SpareRents Cancellation and Refund Policy

SpareRents Cancellation and Refund Policy Version 3 — Open Public Beta, effective September 6, 2026. The SpareRents Terms and Conditions control. BEFORE HANDOFF Either the renter or the lender may cancel any time before the documented handoff. There are no tiered cancellation penalties and no percentage-based cancellation fees. IF THE RENTAL NEVER BEGINS The rental amount is not earned and the SpareRents service fee is generally refunded. The one exception is a delivery or collection travel amount the lender legitimately earned by actually making the required trip. RENTER DOES NOT SHOW FOR PICKUP The rental never begins, there is no monetary no-show penalty, and the lender may leave an appropriate negative review. RENTER ABSENT FOR A LENDER DELIVERY The lender documents arrival and waits 30 minutes, then keeps the quoted delivery travel charge. The rental never begins, no rental subtotal is owed, and other unearned amounts including the service fee are refunded. LENDER DOES NOT PROVIDE THE ITEM The renter receives a full refund, and the lender may face reliability or account consequences. AFTER HANDOFF Ordinary cancellation is no longer available, and an early return does not automatically refund unused booked time. LENDER FAILED COLLECTION The lender keeps the quoted collection travel charge after documenting arrival and waiting 30 minutes. Overdue charging continues separately, and there is no second collection trip; the renter must return the item through an authorized method. FEES The renter service fee is 10% of the rental subtotal with a $1.00 minimum, and is not charged on delivery or collection amounts. The lender platform fee is $0. REFUND TIMING Refunds are issued to the original payment method through our payment processor; your bank controls when the money appears.
